By Steve Gagel, Director of Business Services and Taxation

The Qld Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation has opened the tender for the latest round of gaming authorities via the Courier Mail (not updated on QPT website yet) with the last traded tender value in brackets, being:

  • 13 South East ($606,210 - tender #56) – minimum acceptable price $429,556 (No change)
  • 24 Coastal ($203,010 - tender #56) – minimum acceptable price $186,452 (No change)
  • 4 Western ($100,950 - tender #55) – minimum acceptable price $81,332 (tender #55 $81,332)

Pub Authorities

There is an increase in supply, albeit minor, in South East and Western Regions. Coastal Region has reduced supply. The historic low supply in all areas should keep prices high/steady. It will be interesting to see if the South East Region can maintain the price set last tender on lower supply. Another interesting point to note is the keeping of the minimum acceptable price especially for the South East Region that saw a massive spike last tender. Some supply into the Western Region with nil supply last tender will also test where the market is.

If you intend to bid in the Pub Tender, please ensure you have lodged your completed form (along with the lodgement fee of $77) in the tender box (facsimile, post or email not acceptable) with the Public Trust Office, West Tower, Ground Floor, 410 Ann Street, Brisbane prior to 4pm Wednesday 19 March 2025.
